Boost Glider Event Rules

FOR 1/4A - 1/2A MOTORS
Eiger 25 Steve Behrends' Gnat design from 1974. It was a first place winner back then, once attaining a 75 second duration. The pod is permanently attached to the glider, and ejects the motor for the glide phase of the flight. Converting this glider to a pop-pod arrangement could conceivably save weight and increase duration.
Olympia 67 John Langford's Gnat-Hornet B/G from 1977. No performance stories to share with this one, but I managed to thermal away a glider this size. You can too!
Record-holding

1/4A boost glider

Current C Division 1/4A Boost Glide record holder, Jeff Vincent, flew this glider for a record-smashing 207 seconds. This was accomplished without fancy equipment or building techniques. Build it light using your best contest balsa, trim it very well, load up a 1/4A3-3 and see what you can do!

FOR 1/2A - A MOTORS
Rocky Mountain Canary 2 Bruce Carey set a U.S. Record of 202 seconds in 1/2A B/G at NARAM-23 with this glider.
Turnup A classic design by Phil Slaymaker redrawn by Dan Wolf.

FOR B - C MOTORS
Fly Baby This boost glider is designed for B motors. A beefed-up version might be suitable for C motors. Because of its small size, you can expect very high boosts on a B motor.
